The Hot Air Baloon Festival.
Each year in mid-July Pereslavl-Zalesskiy hosts a traditional event called the "Golden
Ring of Russia" Hot Air Baloon Festival. It is a busy and bright spectacle that annually
attracts increasing numbers of tourists. More than twenty teams from all over Russia, Ukraine,
and Great Britain take part in this festival. The fifth annual festival promises to be equally
exciting and to provide anyone interested with an opportunity to take a balloon ride, to
take pictures or videos from on high, and to learn firsthand more about the history of Pereslavl-
Zalesskiy.

City Day.
This holiday is marked by the "Berendeevskaya" Folk Art Fair. Pereslavl-Zalesskiy is an
ancient city whose history goes back eight centuries. By tradition the city celebrates its
birthday at the end of July. This genuine celebration greets all guests with memorable stage
performances, games, concerts, and, of course, a holiday fireworks display.
Navy Day.
There is good reason that Pereslavl is known as the "cradle" of the Russian navy. It was
here at the end of the 17th Century that young Peter the Great was enchanted by the blue
expanses of Lake Pleshcheevo and began to build his famous "toy" flotilla, which served as
the foundation for Russia's navy. The day is dedicated to Peter the Great and the great
transformations he made in Russia. During the holiday visitors can see how the era of Russian
sailing ships began, how the first masts were built, and how the first sails were sewn.
The "Otkrytiye" Russian Ballad Festival.
Imagine a stroll in nature, breakfast by a campfire, strains of ballads softly drifting through the air.
In addition, festival goers can try their own hands at making music at one of the music workshops
or they can simply listen to the true meter of the Russian ballad genre at Saturday's gala concert.
